Xbox Live "Free(w)eek" numbers

Last week's Verizon/Microsoft free week of Xbox Live Gold is over, and initial numbers are in.

Sure, I own an Xbox (and a 360), but these numbers are interesting to me in a broader sense because the online component of the console space is hugely important to revenue potential and market dominance -- between 20-45%, depending on what analysts you tend to believe.

Anyway, here are the numbers, and don't forget to check out my recommendations for downloads -- many of them are still available.
  • 5 million -- The number of pieces of gaming and entertainment content downloaded during the 7 days
  • 600 terabytes -- The combined size of all downloads
  • 20 terabytes -- Estimated size of all content in the Library of Congress
  • 24 -- The of countries to which E3 content was downloaded

Top Ten Downloads:

  1. Halo 3 Game Trailer (Microsoft Game Studios)
  2. Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Game Demo (Capcom)
  3. Test Drive Unlimited Game Demo (Atari)
  4. MotoGP '06 Game Demo (THQ)
  5. X-Men: The Last Stand Pack (20th Century Fox)
  6. Gears of War GameTrailer (Microsoft Game Studios)
  7. Call of Duty 2: Skirmish Map Pack (Activision)
  8. Spiderman 3 Game Trailer (Activision)
  9. Fable 2 Game Trailer (Microsoft Game Studios)
  10. Uno Xbox Live Arcade Game (Microsoft Game Studios)
