Huh, a few minutes after my phone conversations, I got an Email update to my original Email support request.
Granted, it's from an unmonitored address, but it was in English, French, and Spanish:
"Thank you for contacting Xbox Customer Care. We have received your request for service. Please prepare your console and follow the instructions provided by our customer service department. You will receive an e-mail as soon as the next step in the process has begun."If nothing else, this could be a pretty cool example of efficiency. This whole process is supposed to take 2.5 weeks round trip.
We shall see. That's still 2.5 weeks of not playing ...
